Career Exploration & Work-based Learning
The Iberia Parish School Board has entered into partnerships with several businesses, industries, and organizations. These partnerships play a critical role in the value of the career exploration and/or work-based learning that we can offer to high school students in Iberia Parish.
Career Exploration and Work-based Learning Opportunities:
Dual enrollment credits with post-secondary institutions including South Louisiana Community College, Louisiana State University at Eunice, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Paid internship class that requires students to work a minimum of 15 hours per week as part of the school schedule.
Classes that require students to complete work-based learning as part of their certification requirement such as Certified Nursing Assistant where their instruction takes place in nursing homes or EMT where they are required to complete two ride alongs on an ambulance.
